StATS offers a range of biometric services, advice and training for student, academic and business clientele.
Experimental design
We provide randomization and design services for those undertaking field or laboratory experiments. We can advise on the types of variables you may consider measuring, and the number of replicates required in your experiment, based on your research requirements and experimental restrictions.
The design of your experiment will strongly influence the statistical validity of your results, and we strongly recommend that undergraduate, honours and postgraduate students seek biometric advice before they commence their experiments. A good design can maximize the efficiency of your experiment, both in terms of information retrieved from results, as well as time and cost elements.
Data Analysis
Once you have completed your experiment or trial, we can analyse the data for you, or demonstrate the processes so that you are able to analyse your own data. We can assist you in your biological interpretations, so that you can understand and convey exactly what your results have demonstrated.
Statistical Reports
We can provide summary and/or detailed reports to describe your experiment, analysis, biological interpretations and conclusions. We are happy for you to quote from any report we supply you, provided we are appropriately cited in your work. Statistical TrainingOur company can provide all levels of statistical training for students, research scientists, academics and business people. We can cater to your needs, current knowledge base, and time and cost restraints. Training can be provided for individuals or small groups (based on our experience, groups with less than 20 people are ideal). We can provide training in your workplace, or at other locations convenient to you, by negotiation. Training sessions can be for as little as one hour, or by the day or week. Depending on your needs, we can provide training manuals, worked examples and certificates of completion.
Software TrainingOur company can provide software training to individuals or small groups for a range of statistical software packages, including Microsoft Excel, GenStat, R, and Minitab. We can arrange for site licences to be provided for pre-determined training periods, or you can buy software licences for individuals or workplaces. We will specify the pre-requisite statistical knowledge required for the participants of any course, and we can provide participants with the required knowledge base to undertake any practical course with confidence.
